Swinging the door closed behind her, Sophia took two steps right before collapsing with a loud sob. On her knees and elbows, she clutched fiercely at the carpet, like she was about to be pulled off of it.
The tendrils of dark energy that stemmed from between Sophie's Funny the Cat plushie, gently pulled her hair out of her face and stroked her back. Now now, little master. You needn't let some random bounty hunter's words get to you... she doesn't know you. She doesn't know Vergil. Those words were spawned by ignorance and ignorance alone.
A garbled hysterical sound found its way out of Sophia's throat, as she rolled over onto her back. I know! I know! Oh god Funny, I know! I-I just don't understand why that could get to me! I should be stronger than that! Why is it getting to me this badly?! That's so stupid!! Immediately, she smashed the palms of her hands down over her mouth to muffle a frustrated scream. "MMMMPH!!"
Funny sighed, weaving its energy around the small girl like a cocoon. Hush! Hush, little master. It'll all be alright now. You'll probably never see her ever again. And if you do, just pretend like that never happened. Greet her warmly like how you always greet people. Its mental voice cooed, throbbing and pulsating rhythmically in a soothing fashion. Now sleeeep, little master. You always feel better about things after you've slept for a time.
Sophia felt her eyelids droop involuntarily, warning alarms going off in her head... Funny... Funny was using some hypnosis, or something... playing on the mental connection between summoner and devil, to put her in a forced slumber... Sophia's thoughts slipped off into blackness, as her eyes closed completely.
Lifting the girl's body gingerly into the air, Funny placed her on the nearby couch before sinking back into the depths of cotton plush. A low growl resonated across the room... and then there was silence.
